Soccer Preview: Soccer Starts Conference vs. Portland State and Sacramento State

The Idaho State soccer team starts conference play this week hosting Portland State (Sept. 27) at 4 p.m. and Sacramento State (Sept. 29) at 1 p.m. on Davis Field.

Portland State

Portland State has compiled a 1-8 record heading into conference play. The Vikings have recorded 5 goals in nine games for an average 0.56 goals per game with a .421 shot on goal percentage.

Idaho State holds a 9-12-1 record against Portland State. The last two match-ups were in favor of the Vikings, 3-1 (2018) and 2-1 (2017). The Bengals last defeated Portland State, 3-2 in double overtime, at home in 2016.

In 2018, the Vikings compiled to a 5-10-1 overall record and went 3-5-1 in conference.

Sacramento State

Sacramento has recorded a 6-1-2 record heading into conference play. With an average of 10.7 shots per game, the Hornets average a .521 shot on goal percentage for 1.67 goals per game.
