The Bengals had the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) on the ropes. Down 21–17, quarterback Jordan Cooke had just marched Idaho State to the 3-yard line. The Dome buzzed. Momentum was theirs.
Then Cooke left the game.
The 2025 Idaho State Bengals kick off their season Aug. 23 at UNLV with cautious optimism. After a two-win improvement from 2023 to 2024, the Bengals finished last year 5–7 and are aiming to take another step forward under third-year head coach Cody Hawkins.
A hush falls over the ICCU Dome, broken only by the sharp click of stopwatches and the rhythmic pounding of cleats on turf. This is Idaho State’s Pro Day – a day when dreams are on the line, and futures hang in the balance.
In their season finale, Idaho State Bengals lose to the Idaho Vandals. The offense struggled early, ultimately resulting in a loss. However, they fought till the final whistle, showing heart and resilience.
Coach Grant Duff strengthens the Bengals’ defense. A ‘proven winner’, he previously worked for Weber State, who consistently ranked among the best in the nation. With Coach Duff’s leadership, Idaho State University’s football team is poised for an exciting future.
