CLUBS
Recently, the Associated Students of Idaho State University (ASISU) recognized several clubs on campus, including the new Anti-Gravity Club, returning Psychology Club and the reinstated Aviation Club. The Anti-Gravity Club will help students explore aerial arts, while the Psychology Club will prepare students for research and graduate school. The Aviation Club will provide learning and mentorship opportunities for students, connecting them with potential employers before graduation.
COMMUNITY
ASISU is also looking for more opportunities to partner with the larger City of Pocatello Community through the Bengal Community Partnership. Collaboration will include housing, transportation, public safety, downtown development, workforce development, research, arts and athletics while making the areas surrounding campus more conducive to student life.
STUDENT ADVOCACY
Student advocacy and school spirit are being developed as ASISU brought students together for a Senior Sunrise and promoted coordination among student organizations, athletics and the Student Activities Board for Homecoming tailgate preparation.
Internally, ASISU Directors Mia Price and Kate Ollivant are working to develop a Student Advocacy Board and a Student Leadership Social. Price is also looking into the possibility of creating an academic reporting form to help students communicate their academic concerns and contribute to a university-wide AI policy.
In a late September meeting, ASISU also communicated with Disability Services about potential accessibility concerns around campus generated by on-going construction.
All information came from TeAnna Hutchins, ASISU Director of Public Relations.
