ISU presidential candidate Ricardo Azziz, withdrew his application to become ISU’s next president on March 5 and his scheduled March 12th visit has been cancelled.
Azziz currently serves as the chief officer of academic health and hospital affairs at the State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration.
The search for ISU’s next president will proceed with the four remaining candidates: Kevin Satterlee, Chief Operating Officer, Vice President, and Special Counsel at Boise State University; Laura Woodworth-Ney, Executive Vice President and Provost at ISU; Charles Wight, President of Weber State University; and Robert Marley, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Although it’s uncertain when the new president will be named, the State Board of Education is scheduled to conduct final interviews April 2.
The new president will assume its position in June after current President Arthur Vailas retires.
