We need help! The Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) needs volunteers to help set up the yurts this year. What are yurts? The Portnuef Range yurts are beautiful, sturdy dome-shaped structures.

Each yurt is 16 to 20 feet in diameter and each will accommodate 6 to 10 people. Each is equipped with wooden bunks, a wood burning stove, propane cooking stove and lantern, pots, a shovel, an axe, and firewood.

Also each yurt includes plastic skylights for watching the stars at night. There is also a private outside outhouse nearby each yurt.

The Portneuf Yurt System and the Outdoor Adventure center need volunteers to help set the Yurts throughout the Portneuf Range in SE Idaho.

Volunteers will set up the yurts and prepare wood for the upcoming snow season. Setting up is Oct. 19 through Oct. 20 starting at 8 a.m. at the OAC.

We need as many volunteers as we can to get the yurts set up as quickly as possible.  The only costs will be your time and effort. We would not be able to complete the set up of the yurts without volunteer help.

This is the perfect time and weather to set up these wonderful structures before winter hits.  Besides, it’s fun to work alongside old friends and probably make some new ones.

If you are interested and would like to help, please sign up at the Outdoor Adventure Center.
