Throughout the fall semester, Central Academic Advising will present their third annual “Harvest Your Potential” series.

Led by part-time adviser Nancy Goodman of Central Academic Advising, Harvest Your Potential will consist of various student success presentations held throughout the Fall semester.

“Harvest Your Potential started with the idea of kind of putting [Central Academic Advising’s] student success presentations, instead of doing them individually and not being sure who’s gonna come and all of that, to kind of put it under an umbrella campaign that will promote student involvement in those presentations,” explained Goodman.

The presentations are open to any and all students who wish to attend and are held in Rendezvous Suites A, B or C located on the first floor of the Rendezvous Complex. Tuesday and Thursday presentations take place from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesday presentations from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. The most active participants will be rewarded at the end of the semester with an invitation to an end of semester student recognition luncheon event to be held Dec. 5.

“We’ve had significantly higher numbers [of attendees] this year than we’ve had in the past, so it’ll be a little more competitive,” said Goodman. “We hope to have space to extend an invitation to students who attend six or more events but it’ll depend on [numbers of participants] we have by the end.”

Goodman described the student recognition lunch as a good opportunity for students to do some networking.

So far, a part-time job fair and presentations on “Mapping Out Academic Milestones,” The Hero’s Journey-Your Adventure as a Student” and “Build Your Resume Through Student Involvement” have been held.

Tuesday, Oct. 1, and Wednesday, Oct. 2, a presentation on “Declaring Your Major and Catalog Year” is being held as well as numerous other presentations in the future.

Student attendance will be tracked through Harvest Your Potential punch cards that can be picked up at Central Academic Advising, the Student Success Center or at any of the Harvest Your Potential presentations throughout the semester.
