The movie “Tag,” released June of this year, is a comedy based on a true story starring major actors such as Ed Helms, Jon Hamm, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress and Jeremy Renner.

The story features a group of five highly competitive childhood friends who have played tag every May for the past 30 years. The goal? To not be “it” at the end of the month.

There are no winners, but there is a loser. The last person to be tagged by the end of the month is deemed the loser and “will live in shame for the whole year.”

Throughout their 30 years of playing the game, there has been one friend in particular who has never been tagged, Jerry (Jeremy Renner). The four others make it their mission to tag Jerry before they officially retire from the game.

Jerry is getting married soon and while he looks at it as the beginning of the rest of his life, Hogan (Ed Helms), Bob (Jon Hamm), Chilli (Jake Johnson) and Sable (Hannibal Buress) see this as the perfect time to tag Jerry once and for all.

However, that plan is shot down quick. Jerry’s very uptight soon to be wife makes them all sit down and write out a clause that states they are not allowed to do anything tag-related during any of the events related to the wedding, which puts a damper on the plan, but they ultimately work around it.

A series of action shots and hilarious dialogue take up a majority of the film as the friends try to accomplish their mission.

Do they finally tag the untaggable, untouchable Jerry? That’s not for me to tell.

Overall, this movie is one that should be watched. It is the perfect movie for Friday nights with your buddies while eating a double stuffed crust pizza and lounging in the same pair of sweats that you’ve been wearing all week.  If you enjoy dry humor comedies such as The Hangover, Wedding Crashers and Game Night, then this movie is for you.
