SENIOR SENTIMENTS

Miranda Steffey

Photo Editor

I have had a passion for photography since high school, so when I found out that I could be a photographer and now Photo Editor for The Bengal, I jumped at the chance.

I am so glad that I did, it has allowed me to experience the events and people of this university that I never would have without this job. I have also met some very talented people throughout my time at The Bengal, and it has been an honor to work with all of you. I have learned a lot about photography as well as life, so thank you for all of the good times! I wish all of you the very best!

Completing my clinicals through Idaho State University’s School of Nursing has pushed me out of my comfort zone and has made me confident in speaking with and taking care of patients, so I am grateful to my professors who have made the opportunities at various medical facilities in the area possible. I have been able to experience some amazing things in patient’s lives, from birth to death and everything in between, it has been memorable and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I have met such kind and caring people in this program and I am grateful to have them as my fellow nurses.

As my time as a college student comes to an end, I am proud to be graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I have accepted a position as a Registered Nurse at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho on the surgical unit. I am nervous but excited to begin this new journey in my life. I know it will be difficult but I know that I am in a rewarding profession – being able to help people through their happiest and most devastating moments.

I want to thank my parents and family for always supporting me and pushing me to follow my dreams. Thank you for all of the pep talks and encouragement over the years, I’m sure there will be many more. You have always believed in me and I want to make you proud. I also want to thank my boyfriend, Colton. We have been together since our senior year of high school, we were both accepted into the nursing program together, and now we are graduating! From the late night studying to the melt downs, you have been my rock. I couldn’t have done this without you! I can’t wait to see where nursing takes us!
