Friday, May 3, marked Pocatello’s fourteenth annual Take Back the Night event. Take Back the Night is a march through Old Town Pocatello that aims to shed light on sexual and domestic violence.
During the march, the participants shouted phrases like “No more silence, no more violence,” “Hey, hey, ho, ho, patriarchy has got to go” and “Wherever we go, however we dress, no means no and yes means yes.”
Jessica Milford, Idaho State University Gender Resource Center intern and ISU Feminist Alliance officer, led the march.
The event included food and raffle prizes for attendees and several speakers talked about their experiences with sexual violence.
If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic or sexual assault, you can visit bannockcounty.us/dv/ or call the hotline at 208-251-HELP (4357).
