For returning students the wave of orange and black throughout campus at Idaho State University is a common sight and with orientation in the rearview mirror, the newest incoming Bengals will only add to this.

To help make sure school spirit is seen in as many places as possible, the I Love ISU campaign is allowing homes and businesses the opportunity to receive free orange and black packs to bring in the new academic year.

To receive the package featuring decorations for tables, windows and more, you can go to iloveisu.com and fill in your information.

Multiple events take place over the course of the first few weeks of the fall semester each year to welcome in new and returning Bengals.

One of the major events is Welcome Back Orange and Black, which took place Monday, Aug. 25, at the Red Lion Hotel in Pocatello.

This event featured local businesses, ISU cheerleaders, Bengal Dancers, the marching band and Benny the Bengal, along with athletes from various teams that represent ISU.

As part of the CommUniversity mission, the event is meant to bring the university and community together, something that is done again in the spring when ISU opens its doors to the community for Celebrate ISU.

Continuing with the color theme, Bengal Wednesday will continue throughout the new school year as it looks to become even more of a staple on the ISU campus.

Bengal Wednesday is the day to wear all the orange and black gear you have to show your school spirit. To add to the festivities of the day, organizations throughout campus will be handing out various prizes each week to those who participate.

You can also add to your Bengal gear by visiting the Associated Students of Idaho State University (ASISU) office in the Student Union Building.

ASISU exists to represent all students of the university and is led by President Kyle Son and Vice President Taylor Tingey.

“Students can get ahold of their ASISU representatives in many ways, I would strongly encourage students to stop by the ASISU office in the Student Union Building,” said Son.

You can find contact information for your ASISU representatives on Bengal Web under ‘Current Students,’ then ‘Student Government,’ according to Son.

“Remember, as your representatives, we are here to serve you! Don’t be a stranger, ask us questions, and let us know if you need anything. It’s our pleasure to serve you,” added Son.

With the community and university coming together to ring in yet another year at ISU, the orange and black pride shines through.

Tingey shares the excitement of many as the new academic year begins.

“Welcome to all incoming and returning Bengals. I look forward to making memories with you all on this campus. Go Bengals!”
