The Native Women’s Coalition (NWC) is a non-profit tribal coalition, established to stop all forms of violence against Native women. The Coalition currently is seeking to fill several positions with individuals who are experienced in the field, and who are passionate about stopping violence against Native women. The Operations Officer (OO) position will be located in southeastern Idaho. One, possibly two Program Specialist positions will also be located in southeastern Idaho, and one Program Specialist position will be located in Duck Valley, Idaho.
Operations Officer (OO): Requires a Master Degree in human services and experience in domestic violence and sexual assault, prevention. This Individual must be able to immediately develop, implement, and simultaneously complete several major DV/ SA prevention projects; conduct a victim’s service delivery review, develop a victim’s coordinated community response, coordinate an annual victim’s symposium, coordinate the victim’s training scholarship program, and develop various adult and
youth DV/ SA prevention activities. Must have good relations with the Tribal Council, work cooperatively with the NWC Director, and supervise two or three subordinate field staff.
Program Specialist: Requires a BA degree in human services field and experience in domestic violence and sexual assault, prevention. Must be able to multitask, work independently, be highly motivated, be fast paced, and be able to provide products in a short period of time. Under the direct supervision and direction of the Operations Officer (OO) the PS will assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of several major projects in response to domestic and sexual violence against Native women.
Adjustments to the education and experience requirements will be considered for both positions. You must submit a “detailed & complete” resume, a ten- year employment history, past three supervisors contact information, copy of 2 most recent evaluations, two written character references, and a two page, single spaced, writing sample describing, in your own words, your understanding of the problem of violence against Native women and why you would like to work in this field.
