Gary Rendek beat Kris Van Wyk of Weber State 6-1, 6-4.

Lukas Ridemar later defeated Arvid Hjalte of Utah State, 7-5, 6-3 and Lohse beat Daniel Bushamuka of Utah State, 6-1, 6-1. Ridemar also earned a 6-3, 6-1 win while Rendek earned a 6-1, 7-5 win over Hjalte.

“We had a strong showing in singles with Lucas Ridemore, Fynn Lohse and Gary Rendek all winning two matches and losing one against good competition,” Rodel said. “They stepped up their games and made significant improvements from last year. I was very impressed with Kyler Hartman who won his first college doubles match. He competed exceptionally well and made the greatest improvement since the beginning of practice. Patrik Trhac had a good performance against Boise State. He executed from start to finish. He just came up a little short.”

Idaho State returns to the court to host a fall tournament Oct. 4-6.
