Hungry? We as college students are generally as short on money as we are short on time. The staff at The Bengal understand this all too well. Since fast food is really expensive these days and not always as convenient as one requires, we want to share a few alternative options to help fill your bellies.

These simple recipes and meal suggestions should fit right into your budget and time constraints quite nicely!

This week’s meal idea is Chili Spaghetti: super easy and inexpensive, yet filling and satisfying.

What you need:

1 can of chili (without beans is preferred, but with beans is fine)—approximately $2

1 package of thin spaghetti pasta (regular spaghetti is good too)—approximately $1

Optional extras are shredded cheese, onion, green onion & sour cream

What to do :

  1. Boil 1/3 to ½ of a 16-ounce package of your chosen pasta product.

  2. Open and heat your chosen can of chili. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  3. Drain and serve pasta in a bowl large enough to suit.

  4. Pour heated chili over your pasta.

  5. Add any extras you wish to put on top.

  6. You are all set! Enjoy!

Have comments? Questions? Meal ideas you would like to share? We welcome your feedback and contributions. Feel free to send it to us in a message at your Bengal student newspaper!
