Communiversity to Celebrate Idaho State

ThatsLifeTuesday, March 19, Idaho State University and CommUniversity will team up to host the third annual Celebrate Idaho State from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Building (PSUB).
“Celebrate Idaho State is put on by CommUniversity, the same organization that puts on Welcome Back Orange and Black in the fall,” said Megan Moore, an intern with CommUniversity.
The event provides an opportunity for ISU-affiliated organizations to show what they’re working on to a wider, more community-based audience.
“We have over 100 clubs and organizations scheduled to be present at the event to show the community how many different things ISU has to offer,” Moore explained.
Though the deadline for clubs to register for the event has passed, Moore encouraged club and organization members to be prepared to get involved in the future.
“Keep this event in mind for next year,” she said, adding that “there is no cost to register or attend.”
“Although the event is targeted at community members, students are welcome to attend,” Moore said.
She explained that attendees, like club and organization presenters, do not need to purchase tickets or pay to attend.
“There are so many different clubs to get involved in,” Moore added.
This year, CommUniversity has worked in conjunction with the College of Science and Engineering to have Celebrate Idaho State feature the college’s annual Science and Engineering Festival as part of the community event.
In addition to the Festival, Celebrate Idaho State will serve as a platform to promote ISU’s College of Technology’s upcoming events, the Tech Expo and Chrome in the Dome, which will take place later the same week.
Celebrate Idaho State will feature “free food, entertainment and exhibits, displays and hands-on activities,” according to Moore.
“The event is for all ages but is highly promoted to high school students as this event doubles as a recruiting opportunity for ISU,” she said.
Moore said she has high hopes for the event, especially after all of the time and effort that went into its planning.
“My biggest hope for Celebrate Idaho State is for the community to realize how truly amazing ISU is,” she said. “CommUniversity has been working on this event for many months and I’m excited to see it finally in play and [see] all our hard work and dedication finally pay off.”
