My name is Matt Bloxham and I am your ASISU Student Body President for the 2012-2013 school year. I’d like to personally welcome you to ISU! I am a student in the Division of Health Sciences majoring in Health Care Administration. I am currently a member of Alpha Kappa Psi and a former ASISU Senator. I am looking forward to serving the student body to the best of my ability this year.
I am Anjel Zamora and I am your ASISU Vice President. I am getting my degree in Microbiology and Secondary Education. I work directly with the elected ASISU Senators from each of your colleges. I hope that you, as students, will take the time to get to know your senators so your voice can be heard throughout campus.
We both agree that Student Involvement is your key to success! ISU has something for everyone. There are over 150 clubs and organizations on campus that look forward to including you in their activities and leadership opportunities.
You may ask yourself, “What is ASISU?” It is the Associated Students of Idaho State University. We hope ASISU is the first of many student clubs and organizations you will be part of during your time at Idaho State University. ASISU is here to serve you both academically and recreationally.
We strive to create a lively, active and involved campus. Informing you about the many available activities is one of our goals for this year. As leaders, we choose to lead by example and be transparent in our conduct. We will cheer at the games right along with you. We will get our hands dirty doing volunteer work and service projects right along with you. More than anything, our doors will always be open to you. Please feel free to stop in at the ASISU Office in the Pond Student Union anytime!
ASISU is here to help you achieve your goals. These bullet points outline our mission to serve you. We are here to:
Provide for the general welfare of students attending Idaho State University.
Represent students and initiate action upon issues arising within our university community.
Promote and encourage student participation on the academic and administrative policy making levels of the university.
Provide educational, cultural, social and service activities for students.
Provide monetary support for student activities through a student activity fee as recommended by ASISU.
Provide communication and interaction between the students and the administration and faculty.
Express student opinion.
Provide for participation and involvement in community concerns and affairs.
Again, it is our pleasure to welcome you to BENGAL COUNTRY. We hope you are as excited for the year ahead as we are.
Go Bengals!
