ASISU MONTHLY UPDATE (OCTOBER 2024)

Each issue of The Bengal will include information in this column about ASISU Events as well as the In-The-Know section regarding senate and policy notices. Read below for all you need to know about ISU’s student government this month!

ASISU Events: 

Wake Up Wednesdays

The health, wellness, and sustainability senate committee has planned three Wake Up Wednesdays in collaboration with the Counseling and Mental Health Center. Wake Up Wednesdays will feature booths offering tea, coffee, and hot chocolate along with discussions where students can set their intentions for the day. The three events will be on November 6th, 13th, and 20th, all from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Pond Student Union Building Dining area, Gravely Hall Lobby, and the Rendezvous Dining Area.   

Scholarship Workshop

A free baked potato dinner will be served and students will learn about how to find and win scholarships from Deborah Green, ISU’s Director of Scholarships, and Austin Job, ASISU’s Director of Student Affairs. This event will be on November 14th at 4 p.m. in the Wood River Room (top floor) in the Pond Student Union building. The event is open to the first 50 people who RSVP.

Lunch with ASISU

This event will be on November 20th at 12:30 p.m. in the Quad Lounge in the Pond Student Union Building. Students can enjoy a free lunch with ASISU and the College Deans. Students can bring canned food to be entered into a drawing for a gift card. Each can of food will grant a student one ticket into the raffle!

STD Prevention Workshop

Information to come about location, date, time, and details. 

In-The-Know:

Meridian Campus Visit

President Mishra, Vice President Vidales, and Secretary Madison plan to travel to the Meridian Campus on November 7th to meet with Meridian Vice President Tracy to discuss planning future events on the ISU Meridian campus.

Deputy Elections Commissioner Position Open 

Application for Deputy Elections Commissioner is open until October 27th, 6 a.m.
