Thumbs up: Fall is almost here

The first day of fall is a little over a week away. That means the weather will be cooler, football will be in full swing, baseball’s playoff race will be heating up and Sam Adams Octoberfest will make its yearly appearance. I like all those things.

Thumbs down: Benny

It seems like our school mascot is more suited to make an appearance at a children’s book release about cute lions and tigers getting along in a faraway fantasy world rather than a Division I football game. Why not Bruce, or Butch? I don’t know, maybe give it some mussel definition or something so it looks like it can bench more than 10 pounds.

Thumbs up: Eni Thompson

Eni is the most underrated employee ISU has. She spends late nights getting payroll figured out, covers shifts at the Help Desk and goes above and beyond in helping student-employees. Her work is greatly appreciated by myself, The Bengal staff and, I would imagine, all of ISU. Thank you, Eni for all you do.

Thumbs down: Yellowstone traffic lights

Every time I hit a light on Yellowstone, it’s like somebody is giving me a huge middle finger. I’m so glad I slammed on my brakes so that one guy in his jacked-up Ford F-450 with flames painted on the side can safely make a right turn onto the same road I’m driving on. You cannot go anywhere in Pocatello without driving on Yellowstone, so why are the lights always red?

Thumbs up: That one guy at Einstein’s

If you’ve been to the Einstein’s in the PSUB, you know who I’m talking about. Even though he is a Raiders fan, he is always checking up on my day and he even knows what I order on what day of the week. I’m not sure if that means I go to Einstein’s too much, or if that means he’s an awesome employee. But either way, it’s impressive.

Thumbs down: Everything is closed on Sunday

We live in a town that rolls up its sidewalks on Sundays. As somebody who’s life doesn’t revolve around church, that can be awfully inconvenient at times.
