The twentieth annual College of Pharmacy Spaghetti Feed will be held Friday, Feb. 22 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Part of the proceeds go toward the Make-A-Wish Foundation, funding local 9-year-old Jaxson Long’s wish to travel to Hawaii.
Long has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, an inherited disorder that involves muscle weakness beginning in the legs and pelvis, but may also occur in the upper body.
There is no known cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Treatment aims to control symptoms to improve quality of life.
Since the Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded it has reached over 250,000 children with life-threatening medical conditions around the world.
Remaining funds raised will help pay for College of Pharmacy students’ travel costs to visit rural areas to hold health screenings and give flu shots.
“The goal is to raise about twenty thousand dollars,” said Julie Hillebrant, assistant to the dean for College of Pharmacy Relations.
Dinner will include spaghetti, with meat sauce and vegetarian sauce options available, bread, soft drinks, and brownies.
Tickets are $5 per person or $20 per family.
Tickets will be available in advance and at the door. The event will be held in the Idaho State University Pond Student Union Ballroom.
