FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Idaho State soccer team fell 4-0 at Northern Arizona Sunday afternoon in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Idaho State (3-12-0, 2-5-0 BSC) struggled to get shots off against Northern Arizona (9-8-0, 4-4-0 BSC), recording six shots, all on goal, in 90 minutes of play. Sophomore midfielder Makena Bambei led the Bengals with three shots, all on goal, while Kenya Sherman, Michaela Didericksen and Samantha Rodriquez all added one shot on goal.
The Lumberjacks scored in the third, ninth and 33rd minute of the first half to take a 3-0 lead heading into the break. NAU scored once more in the second half in the 48th minute to seal the 4-0 win. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Hogarth led the Bengals in goal with six saves in 36 minutes of play.
“Today just wasn’t our day,” Head Coach Allison Gibson said. “We need to get home and get back to work to finish our season strong.”
Idaho State returns home for its final three regular-season games, starting Friday, Oct. 20 against Eastern Washington at 4 p.m. at Davis Field.
