Editor-in-Chief
We did it, Bengals!
As finals wrap up and graduation approaches, it’s safe to say we’ve survived another year.
I’d like to congratulate all of our graduates and wish them luck on all of their future endeavors, whatever and wherever they may be.
I hope as our departing Bengals go out into the world, they remember the lessons in life and learning they gained from their time at Idaho State University.
For some, this year was one of many more to come, while for others the end of the semester means the conclusion of a collegiate career.
Here at “The Bengal,” the end of the semester means that we bid farewell to four writing and editing team members who have just completed their last semester at ISU: Staff Writer Krystal Geeson, Copy Editor Michelle Schraudner, Photo Editor Lenka Skalska and Online Editor Travis Smith.
Each of our departing seniors has been a great addition to “The Bengal” team and a pleasure to work with. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know them and learn from them and with them in our time together. I truly appreciate the hard work and time they’ve put in.
I am thankful to the entire Bengal staff for allowing me to act as editor-in-chief and for working so hard on each and every issue. I feel that we have accomplished a lot this year and this semester. I can’t wait to continue that trend next year.
For me, the end of the semester means that I survived my junior year and my first semester as editor-in-chief at “The Bengal.” It also means that it’s time to start preparing for my senior year at ISU.
Where has the time gone?
It seems like only a short time ago that I first applied for the position of editor-in-chief, while in reality that was over a year ago.
This year and this semester have taught me a lot about time management and leaving time for the little things.
Prior to this semester, I thought I had great time management skills and a great balance of school, work, sleep and personal time.
This semester has shown me that while I have always managed to complete every task I set out to complete, I rarely left time for fun and relaxation in any form.
Last semester was the first semester in which I really went out of my way to go to athletic events and activities here at ISU, and I can honestly say that in doing so, I improved my college experience immensely.
I continued that trend this semester, though on a lesser scale as I tried to balance my new position as editor-in-chief.
Even with an increasingly busy schedule, my goal for next semester and next year is to stay involved not only in activities I am directly involved with but in other activities I can attend to support my fellow Bengals.
