The fifth annual Mr. ISU was held Wednesday, Apr. 27, at 7 p.m.
Tayler Elizondo, a senior physical education major, took home the title of Mr. ISU and $250. Elizondo’s talent was playing the banjo and singing a mash-up of popular rap, R&B and hip-hop songs.
Cody Johnson, a junior psychology major, was first runner up and got a prize of $150. Johnson’s talent was performing a strip-tease to “Oops I Did It Again” by Britney Spears.
Matthew Gough, a junior majoring in biochemistry, was second runner up and got a prize of $100. Gough’s talent was a comedic short in which he played a CEO conducting a meeting with himself in regards to receiving a salary raise.
Michael Ward, a Post-Baccalaureate physical education student, won Mr. Congeniality. Ward’s talent was playing a piece on the oboe.
Judges included Aaron “Big Cat” McCabe, an ASISU financial officer; Kimberly Paige, Mrs. Bannock County; and Carri Curtis, a personal trainer and a fitness instructor here at ISU.
Other participating contestants included Maxwell Daniels, a junior nuclear engineering major; Austin Richardson, a freshman Spanish major; Kevin Jones, a junior management major; Andrew Archuleta, a junior mass communication major; Chase Nieffenegger, a junior computer science major and James Wilson, a junior microbiology major.
