McGahie and Lopez Shine in 2-2 Draw

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State soccer team tied Sacramento State 2-2 on Sept. 29 on Davis Field.

Junior Lauren McGahie set the tone early in the match with a goal at six minutes assisted by senior Michaela Didericksen and junior Marisa Hasebi. The goal was her second of the season.

The Hornets answered back at 23 minutes with a goal off a free-kick.

The first half ended in a 1-1 score with the Bengals recording eight shots with four on goal and the Hornets with six shots and three on goal.

Senior Jazmin Lopez took charge in the second half scoring an unassisted goal off a free kick at 53:59 giving ISU a 2-1 lead. The goal was her third of the season.

Sac State tied the score 2-2 with a goal at 56:55 minutes. The rest of the half remained scoreless, bringing the match into overtime.

In the second half, the Bengals recorded 12 shots with six on goal and the Hornets with six shots and two on goal.

After a scoreless double overtime, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
