Malone Leads Bengals Final Day of Aggie Invitational

Treyshon Malone won four individual events on the final day of the Aggie Invitational in Logan, Utah.

Men’s Meet

Malone won the first 100m dash of his Idaho State career running a time of 10.44 seconds. The time ties him for sixth all-time with ISU Olympian Carl Lawson. Cory Mullanix finished fourth running the event in 10.79 seconds

In the 200m, Malone ran a personal best time of 21.15 seconds. The mark earns him the seventh all-time spot in the ISU record book.

Malone recorded two more wins to finish the meet. In the 110m hurdles, he ran a time of 14.59 seconds and he finished the long jump with a mark of 7.36m (24’ 1.75”).

Seth Jarus finished second in the triple jump, recording a

distance of 13.61m (44’ 8”).

In the 400m, Kodee Vining finished third, running a personal best time of 49.71 seconds.

Dan Garz picked up another win for the Bengals, running the 800m in 1:54.26.

Ricky Kuciemba finished second in the 3000m steeplechase, running a time of 9:50.69.

In the 400m hurdles Jakota Brown finished second, running a personal best time of 53.23 seconds. Tyler Johnson finished third, setting a mark of 55.47.

In the discus throw, Trevor Jensen and Leo Finsterbusch finished second and third respectively. Jensen threw a distance of 49.86m (163’ 7”) and Finsterbusch recorded a mark of 49.54m (162’ 6”).

Jensen also finished third in the shot put, throwing a mark of 15.81m (51’ 10.5”).

Women’s Meet

The 4X100 team of Brianna VanVleet, Hannah Bartz, Olivia Holmes and Ashley VanVleet-Sturgis won the event with a time of 47.87.

Molly Olsen won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:40.69.

VanVleet-Sturgis and Holmes finished second and third in the 400m, running 57.19 and 58.98 seconds respectively.

In the 800m, Shayla Henderson finished in second place, running the event in 2:18.65.

VanVleet-Sturgis finished second in the long jump with a distance of 5.59 (18’ 4.25”).

In the discus, Taylor Clark threw a distance of 44.22m (145’ 1”).

Brianna VanVleet finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.53m (37’ 10”).

In the pole vault, Jessica Swannack took second, vaulting a height of 3.85m (12’ 7.5”).

Looking Ahead

On April 20, the Bengal track and field team heads north to Bozeman, Mont., for the MSU Bobcat Invitational.
