Forum Talks

Portneuf River: Past and Future

At 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, the Humanities Café and the Sigma XI Science Café will hold a joint public forum and discussion focused on “Human Interactions with the Portneuf River.” The event will take place in the loft at the Portneuf Valley Brewery in Pocatello.

The forum is designed to explicate the many ways humans have interacted with and affected the Portneuf River in the past and the present.

This event is a melding of monthly public forums held by both the Humanities Café and the Sigma XI Science Café. The Idaho State University-based cafés typically cover topics related to each specific discipline but this joint event was created to connect discussion about both humanities and scientific issues.

Both the Science and the Humanities Cafés hold monthly public forums and discussions, although usually held separately.

The event is funded generously by both the ISU Humanities Café and the City of Pocatello Stormwater Department.

This event is open to the public and will include food and drink in concurrence with the discussion. The Portneuf Valley Brewery is located at 615 First Ave. in Pocatello.

Directions can be found at portneufvalleybrewing.com/map.
