Many college students don’t have a lot of money or are using it to pay for their schooling. Since they are on a low budget most eat what is cheapest and tastes good. The only thing is that most cheap food is usually junk food, which is not the healthiest for an active college student.
We get to school and put on the “freshman fifteen” because all we do is go to class, eat junk food and do homework. If college students would eat healthy instead finding the closest junk food to shove in their mouths they would have more energy, be in better shape, and learn better.
I know that a lot of college students eat in the cafeteria or somewhere on campus. With little money the students pretty much have to eat whatever the school cooks, and that is not always the healthiest or best tasting. Even if the food that is cooked isn’t what you like you still have to eat it because it will probably be the only thing available to eat.
Since the cafeteria serves bad food it makes it okay for students to eat it. If the cafeteria made better tasting, healthier food then the students wouldn’t have to go out and buy junk foods. Students don’t understand that unhealthy food can affect many other things like energy and the ability to learn.
If students can get by on junk food imagine what they could do on a healthy diet. I think they would get a lot more done in less time. Schools should educate students on how the right foods can help with a lot of school relating subjects.
