Crossroads Christian Fellowship

Crossroads-Christian-FellowshipCrossroads Christian Fellowship is a non-denominational religious club available at Idaho State University for students to get involved in whether they are already believers in Christianity or if they just have questions about the Bible and its teachings.
“[The club] is a good opportunity to meet people, make friends, hang out and just grow closer to God,” said club president Stephen Hotrum.
Hotrum emphasized that the club is non-denominational and anyone is welcome to get involved.
The club typically goes on two retreats per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Last fall, the club went to Island Park for their retreat and they are currently planning their spring retreat.
In addition, the club hosts unofficial social activities including movie nights and Super Bowl parties.
According to Hotrum, as of right now the club hasn’t gotten involved in many volunteer activities on campus but suggested that there might be more opportunities in the future.
The club’s weekly meetings consist of what Hotrum called a non-formal Bible study.
“We’re doing a study right now called The Truth Project that looks at the world from a biblical perspective,” explained Hotrum.
Crossroads Christian Fellowship falls under what Hotrum called as an umbrella organization called University Bible Church (UBC). According to Hotrum, the Crossroads Building in which the club holds their meetings is also home to a Chinese fellowship organization and a crisis pregnancy center.
The UBC, located in Chubbuck, also provides a bus to students on Sundays that shuttles students from campus to church.
“You come to ISU and you’re obviously looking to establish and provide the groundwork for career and your life but there’s so much more to life than just your job, just your career,” said Hotrum. “I think when people start sitting down and actually thinking about that, they’re like ‘Maybe there is more to life than just a career, and just school but what is that,’ and I would say come to Crossroads, come to UBC and check that out.”
