Campus Connection Expands Hours

The Campus Connection desk located on the second floor of the Student Union Building expanded its hours of service as of July.

“The reason why we extended our hours is just so that we can be available more for students, said Kayla Kroeger, student manager of the Campus Connection. “If they need help in this building or around campus we’re open and we’re there to help them. We just want to be the place that people can go to to get help, no matter what.”

While no new services were added with the change in hours, the desk is now better able to assist individuals who find themselves locked out of meetings or other rooms.

The Campus Connection is staffed almost entirely by student workers. These individuals are all well-suited to answer any questions involving all facets of the campus.

The desk recently gained the ability to print or reissue Bengal cards, providing students with an alternative to the public safety office.

Tickets for various university events are also sold at the desk. Student club event ticket sales were recently added as well. Prior to this, clubs had to sell the tickets entirely by themselves.

Only one club’s tickets are sold at a time to avoid confusion.

The $15 Bengal card replacement fee is payable only in cash, while tickets may be purchased with credit or debit cards.

In addition, check cashing services are also offered. Students should be sure to bring their Bengal IDs with them to utilize this service.

Students may cash personal checks up to a maximum of $25 while Idaho State University or Chartwell employees may cash payroll checks up to a maximum of $250.

Another major resource that the Campus Connection offers is the phone directory.

“This is something that we’re really trying to do now, is to make sure that we get them to the right person. So if they’re having a problem but we don’t necessarily know who they would talk to, we have a way that we can call over there and talk to the person while the person is still on hold. So we can talk to the other department and say ‘I have this person on the phone, they have this problem, are you the person they need to talk to?’” explained Kroeger.

Campus Connection’s new, extended hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Campus Connection is often confused with the IT Help Desk. The IT desk can be reached at 282-HELP, and the Campus Connection at 282-2700 (INFO).
