The Idaho State volleyball team fell 3-1 to Montana State on Oct. 19 in Bozeman, Mont.
The Bengals kept the lead through most of the first set finishing with a 25-23 set victory. ISU concluded the set with 4-0 scoring run and averaged a .316 hitting percentage.
Early in the second set, Idaho State was in a six-point deficit and came back keeping the match to a close 26-24 finish in favor of MSU. The Bobcats took the third and fourth set 25-21 and 25-14.
ISU recorded 48 kills, 44 assists, 77 digs, and 13 blocks.
Junior Taylor Meeks led the team offensively with 10 kills and a season-high .500 hitting percentage while also recording seven blocks. Sophomore Duquesne Moratzka also recorded seven blocks and 13 digs followed by senior Brooke Pehrson with five blocks and seven kills.
Sophomore Raegan Steiner and senior Haylie Keck each had nine kills and two blocks.
Defensively, Keck and senior Nikole Cook each tallied 15 digs
“Excited to get back home and work on a few things before we take on Eastern Washington at home on Thursday,” said Head Coach Sammi Stuart.
Idaho State returns home to host Eastern Washington Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. (MST) in Reed Gym. The Bengals travel to Moscow, Idaho to face the University of Idaho on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. (MST).
