Fall always marks a new beginning for everyone at Idaho State University. This fall, for me, the sentiment is even more heightened.
From the moment I arrived on campus this summer, I have seen the excitement that comes with new possibilities. As we begin our first year together, I can even feel it. I know we can accomplish great things and I am looking forward to being a part of your college experience.
I want to extend a warm welcome to our new and returning Bengals. I look forward to your success both academically and in life. Our outstanding faculty put students first, and they are invested in you and your future. While your success in the classroom is our top priority, my hope is that you also see your educational experience as more than classes alone.
Our Bengal community is diverse and there is a place for everyone here. Our university is home to more than 150 clubs and organizations, all of which offer the opportunity to find peers who share your passion, whatever that may be. Please make sure you expand your horizons and become involved in so much of what makes the university experience so important. Join me in being involved on campus throughout your educational career. By doing so, even when your time here is finished, the memories you make at Idaho State will stay with you, and you will always be a part of our Bengal family.
At Idaho State, we are committed to preparing our students for life, careers and their future. You are the embodiment of that commitment. You represent a commitment to something larger than each of us as individuals. As part of that endeavor, we promote and foster a culture of fairness, civility and success. This requires each and every member of the university community to create and perpetuate an environment free from any form of discrimination or harassment. Living that commitment is also a solemn duty of all Bengals.
I know you all have a lot to learn this coming year. I am looking forward to seeing the entire campus help you do so.
