Talent Hits the Stage at ISU

ISU Talent
A student performs at “ISU’s Got Talent” last year.

ISU’s Got Talent is scheduled to be held April 5. The talent show is an annual event at Idaho State University.
“We’d like to bring all kinds of different talents, whether it’s singing, dancing, juggling or even magic, together to entertain,” said Alonzo Lemus, Union Programs Council (UPC) member.
Lemus encouraged people with all types of talents to try out.
“I understand that some people have talents that they don’t really feel like they want to show off to a bunch of people, but this is your opportunity you have to present your talent,” he said. “It’s a chance to get involved, not just with the Student Union but as a university.”
“This year we want to make [ISU’s Got Talent] better, not just big for the sake of being big,” said Lemus. “It’s also our last Late Night of the year so we want to go out with a bang.”
Lemus feels that showcasing individual talent is very important.
“People have talents because they’ve worked hard on it,” said Lemus. “We want to showcase what our students are made from.”
Working toward something and seeing events form is rewarding, said Lemus.
“From my point of view as a council member, we’re always planning these events and it’s very rewarding to have an event that you work so hard on,” said Lemus. “It makes you realize that you make a difference in people’s lives on campus and around ISU.”
Auditions will be held March 11, 12 and 13.
To set up an audition for the event, email ude.usinull@cpu before March 8.
“We really like having the audition process where the students contact us,
because then we know that they have the initiative,” said Lemus.
