Public Safety has been made aware of several recent thefts of bicycles from bike racks on the Pocatello campus. The perpetrator(s) are using cutting devices like hacksaws and bolt cutters to free the bikes from chains and other locking devices. Public Safety officers apprehended a perpetrator earlier this morning. The Pocatello Police Department is investigating all the reported incidents. - Be sure to check your bike and locking device on a regular basis to ensure there has been no tampering.
- It is best to use a “U-Lock” made from a strong metal, or a similar secure type locking device.
- Please report anyone you see tampering with a bike – especially at late night or early morning hours.
- It is recommended that you take a picture of your bike and have the serial number registered with Public Safety at www.isu.edu/pubsafe/crime_
